José is a screenwriter and independent filmmaker from La Paz, Bolivia. In 2012, he earned a Bachelor Degree in Communications and Social Studies, during which he filmed other five short films, one of them, called One, won a contest and was exhibited at the Bolivian Cinematheque, selected by Daniel Rezende, editor of the film, The Tree of Life. In 2013, José wrote and directed the short film: Four Times Seven, a gloomy, crime story which is now Official Selection at the 2014 Fenavid film festival. By 2015, José studied the Writing for Film and Television program, at Vancouver Film School, where he won an internal award for Best Script. The school allowed him to also work as a writer for a horror video game named, PSI. Back in Bolivia since 2017, José has directed and written an interactive documentary: Iyambae, for Oxfam, among other short documentaries. He also wrote an animated short film, Bernaldina and the Fox. José worked as a communications assistant in the World Food Programme of the United Nations, where he has written and produced other short documentaries. Today, he is crafting a tv show idea and a feature film that looks forward to be coproduced in different countries.
